Pakistan’s seasoned all-rounder, Imad Wasim, has made a surprising yet welcome announcement by coming out of international retirement. The 35-year-old spin-bowling all-rounder aims to make a strong comeback and has made himself available for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, which commences on June 2.
Wasim took to his official X account to share the news, revealing that he had a fruitful meeting with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials to explore possibilities for his return. The all-rounder initially hung up his boots in November 2023, expressing gratitude to the PCB for their support throughout his career.
Born in Wales, Wasim first donned the Pakistan jersey in 2015 and has since played 121 white-ball international matches, with his last appearance coming in April 2023. He has often questioned the PCB’s decision not to select him multiple times, citing his consistent performances and proven track record.
In his recent statement on X, Wasim demonstrated his unwavering commitment to the national team by asserting that he would give it his all for Pakistan if selected again. His experience and skills on the field, coupled with his relentless determination, could significantly boost the Pakistan squad’s prospects in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.
