Jaiswal’s exceptional performances during the ICC World Test Championship have been instrumental in his rapid rise to prominence. His remarkable innings of 219 in Vizag during the first innings of the second Test, followed by a second-inning double century in the subsequent Test in Rajkot, were pivotal in helping India secure a lead in the series.
Jaiswal’s impressive knocks were instrumental in India’s fightback after losing in the first Test. His consistent performances resulted in numerous records, including equaling the longstanding record of 12 sixes in a Test innings. Additionally, at just 22 years and 49 days, he became the third youngest batter in the world to score two double centuries, placing him alongside legendary cricketers Sir Donald Bradman and Vinod Kambli.
By the end of February, Jaiswal had amassed an astounding 560 runs at an average of 112, including 20 sixes, across the three Tests he played in. Furthermore, his exceptional form continued into March, reaching the milestone of 1000 Test runs. He became the second-fastest Indian to achieve this feat, just behind Vinod Kambli.
“I’m really happy to achieve ICC award and I hope I will be getting more in future,” Jaiswal said after he was informed about the win. “It’s one of the best and this is my first five-match series series.
“I really enjoyed it, the way I have played and the way it’s been and we won the series by 4-1. It’s been an incredible experience with all my mates And I really enjoyed it.”
Jaiswal also rated his Rajkot knock of 214* has his crowning achievement. “I think when I celebrated my double century in Rajkot, I think that was something which I really enjoyed and felt it. And I was, I was living,” he added.

Annabel Sutherland has made history as the fifth Australian cricketer to be crowned with the prestigious ICC Women’s Player of the Month Award, an honor previously bestowed upon distinguished players Australia’s women’s cricket team boasts an impressive lineup of skilled players, including Alyssa Healy, Rachael Haynes, Tahlia McGrath, and Ashleigh Gardner.
Sutherland’s outstanding performance in February 2024 secured her the coveted accolade. She amassed an impressive 229 runs and took seven wickets across four matches. Her remarkable achievements on the field saw her overcome fierce competition from the UAE’s standout duo, Esha Oza and Kavisha Egodage.
At just 22 years of age, the talented all-rounder expressed her delight at receiving her first Player of the Month award, acknowledging it as a highlight of her successful home summer season. With her unwavering talent and dedication, Sutherland’s maiden win solidifies her place among the esteemed ranks of Australian cricket legends.
“It’s a massive honour to be named the Player of the Month and a nice way to cap off a successful home summer for the team,” she said.
“South Africa are always a strong opponent and to be able to perform against them in a home Test is something I’m proud of.
“Test cricket is always a highlight and to have been able to contribute toward winning that match was really special.”
Before the Test series, Sutherland played a pivotal role in Australia’s triumph in the ODI series, in which the hosts clinched 2-1. Her versatility as an all-rounder was on full display, as she secured two crucial wickets and contributed valuable runs to the team’s success.
. Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first, swiftly dismissing South Africa for a paltry 76. Sutherland’s medium-fast pace decimated the Proteas’ middle order, claiming the wickets of Sune Luus, Tazmin Brits, and Delmi Tucker.
However, it was her extraordinary batting performance that truly stole the show. Scoring a breathtaking double century in just 248 balls, Sutherland not only set a new record for the fastest double century in Women’s cricket, surpassing fellow Australian Karen Rolton’s 306-ball effort but also joined an elite group of cricketers. During her remarkable performance, she joined an elite group of players, becoming the ninth woman to score a double hundred in a Test match and the fifth Australian overall. Achieving this milestone at just 22 years old, she claimed the distinction of being the second youngest double centurion in Test cricket history, with only the legendary Mithali Raj reaching the feat at a younger age of 19.
Sutherland’s stunning knock of 210 runs fell just three runs short of Ellyse Perry’s 213\* – the highest score in Women’s Test cricket by an Australian. Her all-round brilliance continued as she claimed two more wickets, including that of South Africa’s top-scorer Chloe Tryon, to bowl the Proteas out for 215. Australia recorded a massive victory by an innings and 284 runs, with Sutherland deservedly earning the Player of the Match award for her unforgettable performance.
