The last encounter between these teams was in the Qualifier, where the Sixers secured a 39-run victory to advance to the final. Entering Wednesday’s match, the Sixers are on a four-game winning streak. If they prevail, it will be their fourth BBL championship and their first since winning BBL 9 and BBL 10 in back-to-back years.

Brisbane Heat Clinch Their Second BBL Title with a 54-Run Victory Over Sydney Sixers in the Final
Brisbane Heat secured their second Big Bash League title with a commanding 54-run win over the Sydney Sixers in the Final of the 13th edition on Wednesday, January 24, at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Opting to bat first, Brisbane set a competitive total of 166/8 in their 20 overs, thanks to a solid half-century from Josh Brown (53 off 38). Sydney’s Sean Abbott was notable with the ball, taking 4/32 in his four-over spell.
In response, the Sixers were dismissed for 112 in 17.3 overs, with captain Moises Henriques top-scoring with 25 off 27 balls. Brisbane’s Spencer Johnson excelled with the ball, finishing with 4/26 in his four overs.
The left-arm seamer deservedly earned the Player of the Match award for his pivotal role in leading his team to victory over the three-time champions, Sydney Sixers.
